“Hank Aaron broke through the barriers of racism and segregation in the Jim Crow South to become one of America’s greatest ballplayers. His actions paved the way for people of color to make their mark not only in sports but also in business, government, and all industries. As Mayor of the City of West Palm Beach, it was a great honor and privilege to have had Mr. Aaron in our city. I extend my condolences to Mr. Aaron’s family.” –Keith A. James, Mayor
