Man Drove into House, Deputies Say

A 65-year-old man has been taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital following a Thursday morning crash in the Town ‘N Country area.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Jorge Frometa was heading north on Hesperides Street when other motorists noticed his Toyota Camry weaving in and out of its lane.

Frometa, deputies say, ran onto a lawn at 4502 Idlewild Avenue and then crossed over to 4501 Idlewild where he struck two parked cars in the driveway and the corner of the home.

No one was in the room where the vehicle struck the home, the sheriff’s office reported.

Frometa was taken to St. Joseph’s to be checked out by medical professionals, the sheriff’s office noted.

The accident remains under investigation. It is unclear at this time if a medical event sparked the incident.
