• Westlake OKs $13.5 Million Budget With Small Drop In Tax Rate (gotowncrier.com) — Westlake’s new $13.48 million budget for 2027 includes a tiny millage cut, trimming the average city tax bill by about $4.50 while keeping services funded. City leaders say they’re being cautious as a statewide Amendment 3 could sharply reduce future property tax revenue, even as Westlake invests in a major new park and a transit link to West Palm Beach. 
• Westlake's New Elementary School (westlakewanderer.com) — Westlake parents are being urged to speak up now as planning ramps up for the new county elementary school, currently called 23-H, already rising inside the city. Civic engagement at upcoming Palm Beach County School Board and Westlake City Council meetings will help shape zoning, special programs, and even the school’s name and mascot, with Principal Darline Winewski actively seeking community feedback.
