4 Injured In Crash Involving GA Ambulance

A driver was charged after GA authorities say they made an improper U-turn in front of an ambulance carrying a patient, leading to a crash.

VALDOSTA, GA — Four people were injured in a crash after a driver was accused of making a U-turn in front of an ambulance that was transporting a patient Saturday in Lowndes County.

A white Chevy Malibu was heading south on GA-31 at the same time as a South Georgia Medical Center ambulance was going south behind the Malibu, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The ambulance, at the time, was in non-emergency mode and was transporting a patient to Madison, Florida, authorities said.

The Malibu tried to make a U-turn in front of the ambulance, which authorities said led to the ambulance's front bumper hitting the Malibu in the driver-side front fender.

The Malibu then rotated and hit the passenger side of the ambulance, authorities said.
