6 Killed, 5 Injured In GA House Fire
"Anytime something like this happens, it's devastating," a Georgia fire chief said Monday morning after six people died in a house fire.
NEWNAN, GA — A tragic blaze Monday morning claimed the lives of six people and injured a firefighter in the 1300 block of Macedonia Road, Coweta County Fire Chief Robby Flanagan told reporters at a news conference.
Crews were dispatched around 5 a.m. to the residential house fire, where they found fire coming from the home's roof, Flanagan said. The home was halfway consumed by fire, he said.
"It was a lot of heat, very hot, and a lot of smoke," Flanagan said.

When they arrived, he said five people were outside, and firefighters were told that there were six other people who were possibly trapped inside the home.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and conducted search and rescue efforts, during which six unnamed people were pulled from the fire, Flanagan said. He added all six people were dead.
