Crash Injures GA Deputy After Patrol Car Rear-Ended On I-85 S
A person who was being arrested was injured in a crash that also injured a Georgia deputy on I-85 south, authorities say.
COWETA COUNTY, GA — A deputy was seriously injured after his patrol car was hit by another vehicle Sunday on Interstate 85 south, the Coweta County Sheriff's Office said Sunday.
The crash happened at Mile Marker 49, near Newnan.
Authorities said the crash happened during the arrest of a person who was seated in the backseat of the patrol vehicle at the time.

Both the deputy and the arrestee were taken to a hospital, where the deputy was in stable condition, authorities said. The person being arrested suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the patrol car rejected medical treatment, authorities said.
