A 2-year-old Georgia boy was celebrating his third birthday in Florida when he was accidentally killed in a shooting, media reports say.

"The 4-year-old found the firearm in the vehicle unsecured, retrieved it and discharged the firearm, striking the 2-year-old and subsequently killing the child," Osceola County Sheriff Christopher A. Blackmon said, according to reports.

“The gun was unsecured. I would think if it was in a holster, maybe it’d make it harder for the child to manipulate, as well. But it’s literally laying out by itself, so it’s easy to grab.”

Tennyson was reportedly taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando, where he was later pronounced dead.

Local authorities told WFTV the 4-year-old was Tennyson's cousin.

A GoFundMe established for Tennyson stated he was in Florida celebrating his third birthday, which WFTV reported would have been Tuesday.

The GoFundMe organizers are requesting $16,000, which they said "will go toward bringing Brayden home and helping ease the financial burden during this unimaginable time."

The online fundraiser stated:

"Your kindness, generosity, and prayers will mean the world to Brayden's family as they grieve this heartbreaking loss. Please help us bring sweet Brayden home. Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts."
