Kemps Extends Georgia Gas Tax Suspension

The supply chain state of emergency was also extended Friday.

ATLANTA, GA — The temporary gas tax suspension and the supply chain state of emergency were extended Friday, according to Gov. Brian Kemp's office.

The two orders are in effect through Dec. 11. They were initially set to expire Nov. 11.

"As another holiday season and a looming diesel shortage approaches, Georgians are still facing record high inflation, growing costs at the grocery store just before Thanksgiving and high prices at the pump as they prepare to travel to see family ..." Gov. Brian Kemp said in a news release.

According to AAA, regular gas in Georgia was an average $3.130 per gallon Friday. Mid-grade was an average $3.514, premium was $3.870 and diesel was $4.920.
