UPDATE: Missing Teen 'Believed To Be In Extreme Danger' Found Safe In GA

BAXLEY, GA — Authorities say a 13-year-old girl who disappeared from Baxley on Thursday has been found safe.

The disappearance of Layla Alexis Nubian Carter prompted a Levi's Call, Georgia's version of an Amber Alert. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, in an update on Friday, said Carter was located and was safe.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Layla Carter was last seen with Giavannie Alexis Carter at 1 a.m. Thursday in the 170 block of James Drive in Baxley. The pair was traveling in a gray Jeep Renegade, the GBI said.

Layla Carter has blonde braided hear and was last seen wearing pajama bottoms and a T-shirt, the GBI said.

Giavannie Alexis Carter has black braided hear and was last seen wearing a gray and white tank top, black shorts and a black baseball cap with blue trim, the GBI said.

Authorities say they did not know which direction the Carters traveled.

"Layla is believed to be in extreme danger," the GBI said.

The agency asked people to call 911 or Baxley Police, (912) 367-8305.
