A pilot was performing a test flight when a single-engine plane went down, killing the pilot in Georgia, a media report says.
STATESBORO, GA — A pilot was killed in a small plane crash Wednesday in the area of Highway 24 and Sand Spur Road, according to a WTOC report.
The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office said authorities were investigating the single-engine plane crash around 5 p.m.
They did not specify the details of the crash but asked people to avoid the area at the time.

However, WTOC reported a pilot, who was not from Statesboro, was killed in the afternoon plane wreck.
Prior to the accident, the pilot was reportedly working on the aircraft (an Airshark model) and performing a test flight when the plane crashed.

The pilot, who has not been named, was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are now expected to oversee the investigation, WTOC reported.
