Pregnant Mom Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide, GA Cops Say

Police say a man took his own life after a pregnant mother and her unborn child died in a Milledgeville shooting.

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA — Police have identified the man accused of fatally shooting a 31-year-old pregnant woman whose unborn child also died during the recent apparent murder-suicide in Milledgeville.

Milledgeville Police said Briuna Hartry, 31, was about 33 weeks pregnant when she was shot and killed sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. Friday at a home in the 100 block of North Richmond Street.

Her lifeless body was found inside the home, and her unborn child did not survive the shooting, police said.

The accused gunman was identified as Jajuan Taylor, 33. Police said Taylor, whose body was also located in the home, died by suicide after fatally shooting Hartry.

They were taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Macon for autopsies. A motive was not revealed in the shooting.
