Acworth Cabela's Will Open Aug. 21

Acworth outdoors lovers only have to wait three more weeks to start shopping for supplies in their very own Cabela’s.

The Marietta Daily Journal reports that the 100,000 sq. ft. hunting, fishing, and outfitting store will open its doors on Aug. 21, at 10:45 a.m. The Acworth store is the largest Cabela’s venture in the state.

A Cabela’s spokesman told the MDJ that the store expects some 5,000 to 7,000 people to walk through the doors during opening day. He added that there will be giveaways, games, and live music when the party starts at 8 a.m.

98 percent of the 200 jobs created by the new store were filled by locals, the MDJ said.

The Acworth Cabela’s is located in southwest Cherokee County at 152 Northpoint Pkwy., at the corner of Interstate 75 and Highway 92.
