Residents can bring blankets, chairs, and coolers, enjoy the splash pad and car show, and purchase alcohol within the Entertainment District, but pets, tents, and outside alcohol are not allowed.

Employees of downtown businesses in metro Atlanta city will get special parking (wsbtv.com) — Downtown Powder Springs workers will soon get 34 permit-only parking spaces near Thurman Springs Park, freeing up more on-street spots for visitors. The city will issue decals for eligible employees, and officials say the new program will begin in July without affecting handicap parking spaces.

Campus News: The Week of June 27 (mdjonline.com) — Powder Springs students are racking up academic honors, with three locals earning law degrees from Georgia State and another completing a master’s in sport administration at Belmont University.
