Acworth Man Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

A man claimed that he had been shot, but deputies didn't see any injuries on him.

An Acworth man was arrested by Bartow County sheriff’s deputies after he falsely claimed that he had been shot earlier this week, The Daily Tribune News reports.

A deputy was dispatched to a home on Glade Road in Acworth in response to a person shot call on Monday, the Tribune reports, citing a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office incident report. According to the report, the deputy discovered a man walking away from the scene who refused to respond to commands. After being threatened with a taser, the man, later identified as Christopher Holcombe, began talking to the deputy and said that someone he didn’t know had shot him in the leg. He added that he had called 911 and requested paramedics, but not law enforcement.

Although the deputy was able to confirm that Holcombe had been involved in a disturbance at a nearby Waffle House earlier on Monday, Holcombe showed no signs of being shot, the report states.
