Acworth Teacher Receives Grant from Cobb Schools Foundation

18 teachers in the county received $22,000 in grant money to further develop their innovative ideas in the classroom.

A teacher who serves the East Cobb community has been recognized for her creative approach to education and has been given a grant as a result, the Cobb County School District announced Thursday.

Pickett’s Mill Elementary School’s Pam Thompson received a 2014 Teacher IMPACT Grant from the Cobb Schools Foundation. The grants were awarded to 18 teachers who demonstrated innovative techniques and programs in their classrooms and in their schools.

Thompson was given a $387 grant for her program “Hard Work Pays Off – Book Publishing for Young Authors.”
