Acworth Veterans Day Ceremony is Tuesday Afternoon

The keynote speaker for Tuesday afternoon's event is Lt. Col. (Ret.) Doug McKittrick, U.S. Army.

The City of Acworth will pay its respects to the country’s armed forces veterans by hosting a somber but patriotic Veterans Day ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.

The ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial at Patriots Point at Cauble Park, a picturesque site featuring the flags of all branches of the armed forces and pavers commemorating local veterans who have served their country in years gone by. The ceremony will not only honor those who have served in the past, but also recognize those who are currently serving.

The keynote speaker for the ceremony is Lt. Col. (Ret.) Doug McKittrick, U.S. Army. McKittrick had a distinguished career in the Army, and chaired the Acworth Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee in 2006. The 2006 committee oversaw the construction of the Veterans Memorial.
