Cigar Stores in Several Metro Atlanta Counties Burglarized

Police are not sure if the crimes are related, but said that they all share a similar method to get into the store.

Cigar store owners are trying to warn their colleagues across the metro Atlanta area about a rash of burglaries targeting their stores, WSB-TV reports.

According to police who spoke with the station and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, approximately 30 cigar store break-ins have been reported in a dozen metro counties since Aug. 21. Police are not sure if the crimes are being committed by the same individual or group, but have confirmed that the modus operandi in each incident has been the same; the burglar smashes a window with a rock, then steals money from the till.

One cigar store owner who talked to WSB-TV said he had to spend over $6,000 to repair the damage done to his store by the burglar.
