Citizens' Public Safety Academy Now Accepting Applications

The 14-week course begins on Sept. 9.

The Cobb County Citizens’ Public Safety Academy is now accepting applications for its fall session, The Marietta Daily Journal reports.

The program is a 14-week excursion which shows academy participants the intricate nature of public safety. Participants will get first-hand looks at the county’s 911 communications center, the Cobb County Police Department, Cobb County Animal Control, and Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.

To apply for the academy, please contact Renee Cameron at (770) 590-5650 or Renee.Cameron@cobbcounty.org before Aug. 15. Participants must be at least 21 years old, live in Cobb County or work for Cobb County government, and consent to a background check. The class is limited to 35 seats, so the sooner you apply, the better.
