Cobb County SWAT Extracts Man Barricaded in Home

A Cobb County man was taken into custody by SWAT units after he barricaded himself inside his home for several hours following a domestic dispute.

Police spokesman Mike Bowman told Patch that officers were dispatched to the home on Spring Mountain Lane in Powder Springs at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in response to a report of a domestic situation between a husband and wife. Bowman said the man barricaded himself inside his home when officers arrived.

FOX 5 Atlanta reports that the husband had beaten his wife. The station also said that SWAT teams entered the home at approximately 8:30 a.m. and arrested the man. The female victim has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
