Heart Attack Survivor from Acworth Named Finalist in Caddie for Love

Alan Durham, an Acworth man who miraculously survived a heart attack, has been selected as a finalist in the Caddie for Love III contest, 11Alive reported this morning.

The TV station reported earlier last month that Durham had suffered a major heart attack in May, and flatlined in the ambulance on the way to Kennestone Hospital. His vitals returned in about 20 minutes after doctors tried every option and eventually brought his wife into the room.

11Alive says that Durham came across the McGladrey Caddie for Davis Love III commercial while watching TV in his hospital room. He then wrote an essay and recorded a video to share his survival story.

Durham is one of the 20 finalists, and the only Georgian selected out of 12,000 entries. The contest winner will caddie for Davis Love at the McGladrey Classic pro am on Sea Island in October.
