A 25-year-old man swimming in Lake Allatoona has drowned, authorities told 11 Alive News.
The news outlet reports that the man was swimming near Allatoona Landing on Sunday when he tried to swim after a float that was blown away by the wind. Witnesses said the man began having trouble and went under the water. This is the fifth such drowning on the lake this summer.
