Mayor Allegood, Chairman Lee Accept Ice Bucket Challenge

The two politicians have been bathed in ice-cold water to help raise money and awareness of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The mayor of Acworth and the chairman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners sat united as ice-cold water was poured over their heads outside Acworth City Hall earlier this week.

Tommy Allegood and Tim Lee accepted the ALS Association’s Ice Bucket Challenge, a fund and awareness raising campaign designed to battle ALS. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive and ultimately fatal degenerative neurological condition.

Each person issued the challenge to three new people.
