North Cobb American Legion Family of Post 304 Donates to the Kennesaw Police Department, Jerry Worthan Memorial Christ

North Cobb Post 304 and Auxiliary Unit 304 presented Chief of Police Bill Westenberger, Kennesaw Police Department with checks for $500 and $250 for the Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund.
Proceeds from the North Cobb Post 304 Legion Family Veterans Day Celebration BBQ were designated to make Christmas merrier for less fortunate children of Kennesaw.
Auxiliary President Pennie Groover stated “Christmas is a time for children to experience joy and love. The Legion Family of Post 304 makes it a priority to help children in need. Their Christmas morning will be brighter and hopeful.”

Chief Westenberger was thankful for the dedication and service of the North Cobb Post 304 Legion family to the needs of the Kennesaw community.
The Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund is a non-profit charitable organization sponsored by the Kennesaw Police Department whose mission for thirty-nine years is providing gifts and food to the children of less fortunate families in the Kennesaw area on Christmas morning.

American Legion North Cobb Post 304 was chartered and incorporated in 1991 as a patriotic veteran’s
service organization devoted to mutual helpfulness, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members, veterans and the communities of Acworth and Kennesaw.
The American Legion Auxiliary has been dedicated to serving veterans, military and their families for nearly 100 years. Auxiliary members exemplify Service Not Self through countless volunteer hours, programs, conferences and an increased presence in Washington, D.C. Although things have changed since the American Legion Auxiliary’s establishment in 1919, the one thing to remain the same is our member’s unwavering commitment to honor those who serve.
