Deputes responded to a suspicious activity call Saturday afternoon on Lee Path, which sits off Woodstock Road in unincorporated Acworth. According to the sheriff’s office’s press release, the caller expressed concern that her neighbor, Karen McGuire, 42, and her six-year-old daughter “may have been taken against their will by an acquaintance,” identified as Darin Czech, 43, of Roswell.
Sheriff’s office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said investigators made contact with both Czech and McGuire by phone Sunday morning. The woman reportedly told investigators “that she just wanted to come home.”

“Czech refused to meet with investigators and dropped McGuire and the juvenile off at the Indian Creek MARTA Station...this afternoon,” Baker added.
Detectives went to the MARTA station to interview McGuire, who said she and her child were kept against their will overnight in an “unknown“ Atlanta hotel, the spokesperson said. Neither McGuire or her daughter were injured.
Czech was last seen driving a small box style U-Haul van with Arizona license plate AD73221.
Anyone with information on Czech’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
