Repeat Domestic Abuser Going to State Prison

A jury has convicted Ricky Allen for beating his wife at their Birchwood Lane home in 2013.

A Cobb County jury needed two hours to convict a 39-year-old man of family violence battery, aggravated battery, and false imprisonment, the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Evidence presented by prosecutors during the trial of Ricky Allen showed that he had severely beaten his wife during a fight in June, 2013 at their Birchwood Lane home just off of Austell Road. The evidence showed that Allen threw his wife onto a concrete floor then punched her. His wife sustained a head wound and other injuries.

Cassi Haberler, family violence director at the YWCA of Northwest Georgia testified during the trial that Allen was a classic domestic violence abuser.
