Section of Senator Russell Avenue Closed for Beautification Shifts

The closing of Senator Russell Avenue has moved closer to its intersection with Morningside Drive, according to an update from the city.

Construction work continues on the Senator Russell Avenue beautification project's second phase as it progresses from its intersection with Dallas Street.

The contractor has moved along with the scheduled work, which requires the closing.

But visitors to downtown offices and businesses at 4427 Carnes Street can still access them via an opened driveway near the Morningside-Senator Russell Avenue intersection. Regions Bank customers still can get to the bank from Morningside Drive.

Need to get to Acworth City Hall? Use Lemon Street or Dallas Street, with two-way traffic allowed via the driveway between City Hall and the library for parking in the rear of City Hall or the library's parking lot.
