Two People Shot in Cobb County

Two people are in the hospital following a shooting incident at a home off of Austell Road in Cobb County, according to police.

Officer Mike Bowman of the Cobb County Police Department tells Patch that a resident at a home on Stonecrest Drive heard gunshots at a neighbor’s home at 3:49 p.m. Saturday and saw two people bleeding. The neighbor promptly called 911 and police arrived shortly thereafter.

The shooter, who is a male, attempted to leave the scene but was stopped and arrested by officers.

Both victims, who are reported to be women, are in the hospital. One of the victims, a juvenile, is in surgery.

WSB-TV reports that the victims are the wife and daughter of the shooter. Patch is working to independently verify this information from police sources.
