Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Allatoona Needs OT Friday, Still Wins
Each week we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Acworth Patch.

Allatoona 28, Dalton 21 – running back Miles Jones ran for all four Buccaneer touchdowns Friday in an overtime victory, according to the Dalton Daily Citizen. The Buccaneers scored the first 14 points of the game but had to battle just to get to overtime. Dalton missed a late-fourth quarter field goal that would have iced the game for the Catamounts.
North Cobb 42, Kennesaw Mountain 17 – scored first in Friday’s Civil War Classic but did the most damage, decisively beating the Mustangs by scoring the next 42 points of the game. Quarterback Tyler Queen scored twice on the ground as did Quinten James.
Pebblebrook 21, Harrison 14 – held a lead until just under two minutes to go in the game, according to the Marietta Daily Journal, but gave up go-ahead touchdown to the Falcons. Harrison was driving to answer, but quarterback Clay Chastain threw an interception on Pebblebrook’s 5-yard line to seal the win for the Falcons.

Cross Keys 26, North Cobb Christian 21 – As has been the story in each of North Cobb Christian’s three losses after opening the season with a win, penalties and spotty defense led to the Eagles’ loss Friday. led throughout most of the second half, but a touchdown pass with just under four minutes to pay gave Cross Keys the win.
