Woman Found Dead in Car in Acworth Driveway

A 57-year-old woman was found dead in a car in the driveway of an Acworth home on Wednesday evening in an incident that Bartow County officials are ruling a suicide.

Bartow County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Johnathan Rogers told Patch that deputies responded to the home in the 7000 block of Glade Road at 7:59 p.m. Wednesday. Once on the scene, deputies discovered the woman inside a car and determined that she used a .380 pistol to shoot herself once in the chest. The woman was declared dead at the scene, and the Bartow County Coroner was dispatched.

Authorities have not yet released the woman’s identity.
