UPDATE: Woman Freed From in Vehicle in Acworth

Storms caused a tree to fall on the vehicle the woman was driving, trapping her inside.

UPDATE (4:35 p.m.): Cobb County fire spokeswoman Dennell Boyd has confirmed that the woman who was trapped inside her vehicle by a fallen tree in Acworth has been freed from the wreckage.

Boyd said she did not believe the woman was injured in the incident.


ORIGINAL STORY (3:00 p.m.): Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services is attempting to free a woman trapped inside her vehicle by a fallen tree in Acworth.

Spokeswoman Dennell Boyd told Patch that the incident occurred at the intersection of Hamby and Hickory Grove roads. The intersection is next to Interstate 75 and is 1.2 miles away from Pitner Elementary School.

The trapped woman is conscious, according to Boyd.
