25th Annual Fulton Golden Games Kicks Off In Milton

Bell Memorial Park in Milton will once again host the opening ceremony of the Fulton Golden Games, a month-long competition for adults.

MILTON, GA — For the fourth consecutive year, Milton will host the Opening Ceremony of the Fulton Golden Games, a month-long community event offering active adults the opportunity for fellowship and fun activities.

The Fulton Golden Games provides adults 50 and older an opportunity to participate in a variety of sports competitions and games of skill, meet new people, learn new leisure skills and become more aware of recreational activities available to them.

This year's event is being held April 24 - May 29, in various locations around Fulton County, including Milton, Alpharetta, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Atlanta, and is open to Fulton County adults 50 years and older.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m., April 24, at Milton's Bell Memorial Park. Field events, including a one-mile walk and run, half-mile walk, Frisbee throw, discus throw, shot-put throw, bocce toss, croquet and ladder golf begin after the ceremony. Lunch will be provided to those who attend.

"Milton is proud and excited to once again host the Fulton Golden Games opening ceremony," Jim Cregge, Milton Parks and Recreation Director said in a release. "This is a great event for the mature adults in our area who want to stay active and social."

Throughout the month-long celebration, participants can take part in various activities across Fulton County, including bocce, golf, a nature hike, chess, pickleball, swimming events, Wii bowling, bridge and poker.
