$4 Million Worth Of Crystal Meth Recovered In Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, GA -- A joint operation between the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration led to the arrest of an alleged illegal alien and the seizure of millions of dollars worth of crystal methamphetamine.

A special unit within the Department of Public Safety was recently assisted by the federal agency in its execution of a search warrant at an apartment unit in the city.

That operation unearthed about 95 pounds of the drug and the arrest of 34-year-old Moises Isidro-Jaimes, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said on its Facebook page.

The street value of the drug is estimated to be $4 million, the agency stated.

Isidro-Jaimes, who was previously deported by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Services, had active warrants for his arrest, Alpharetta DPS added.

"I want to publicly thank our detectives who worked this significant seizure and the DEA for their exceptional work and partnership with us," Alpharetta Department of Public Safety Director Gary George said. "This case represents how the DEA partners with and brings in local law enforcement in a joint effort to eradicate drugs from communities all across America."
