$5,000 Reward Offered To Catch Convicted Murderer
Shane Demetrice Woods, who fled the courtroom earlier this year on second day of his trial, was found guilty of killing Zachary Rose, 22.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- The United States Marshal Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information directly leading to the arrest of a convicted murderer who remains at large.
Shane Demetrice Woods, who was found guilty in the 2013 shooting death of 22-year-old Canton resident Zachary Rose, has not resurfaced since Feb. 10 when fled the Fulton County courthouse during a recess on the second day of his murder trial.
Woods' disappearance kicked off when evidence was uncovered that the defendant allegedly tampered with one of the prosecutor’s witnesses, the Fulton County District Attorney's Office said.

That forced the state to ask Woods’ bond be revoked and while Judge Newkirk was considering the request, Woods fled the courtroom and never returned to the Fulton County courthouse.

Prosecutors say Owens arrived with Woods, and both men forced their way into the home with their guns drawn. Rose and Owens struggled over the gun, and Woods pointed a gun at Adams, who proceeded to lie on the floor. He then shot Rose once in the abdomen and fled the scene of the crime.

Rose was transported to North Fulton Hospital, but died from his injuries. The defendants both were identified through jail records and a phone line-up, and Woods was eventually arrested by the U.S. Marshal Service’s Southeastern Fugitive Task Force. For his part, Owens was apprehended by Sandy Springs police.
The trial continued in his absence and Woods was found guilty on two counts each of felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to life in prison plus five years. Woods is considered to be armed and dangerous, and the public is advised not to approach him when spotted.
Anyone with information on Woods' whereabouts is asked to contact United States Marshal Service Inspector Tom Kinsella or Special Deputy United States Marshal Neal Solomon at the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force at 770-508-2500 or the U.S.M.S. Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102.
