AIG To Cut 400 Jobs in Alpharetta
The global insurance provider will close its Alpharetta claims processing office and move those services to other areas.

American International Group Inc., a global insurance provider, will close its offices in Alpharetta, a decision that will affect 400 jobs.
Matthew Gallagher, a spokesperson with the company, said AIG will “support all employees” affected by the decision to close its claims processing office in Alpharetta. Those operations at the Alpharetta office will be moved to AIG offices throughout the United States and Asia.
“Today, AIG is a more agile company focused on the future,” Gallagher added. “The efficiency of our systems and operations is a critical consideration as we look to exceed the evolving expectations of our global customer base.”

AIG has over 1,000 employees in Georgia and metro Atlanta, and Gallagher noted the company remains “deeply committed” to those workers.
AIG employs over 64,000 people worldwide in more than 90 countries.
