Alpharetta 911 Center Receives Re-Accreditation

The International Academy of Emergency Dispatch's re-accreditation will be valid for an additional three-year period.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- The city of Alpharetta's 911 center was recently re-accredited by the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch for an additional three-year period.

The re-accreditation award was received by 911 Supervisor Shawna Pope on behalf of the city at the recent IAED convention in Washington, D.C.

Alpharetta’s 911 center is both nationally and internationally accredited as a Center of Excellence and is only one of 167 centers worldwide to obtain the prestigious destination.

“I am so proud of our 911 operators for their accomplishment," said Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle. "The attainment of the re-accreditation award by Alpharetta public safety’s 911 center is indicative of the quality of our public safety staff and their dedication to our community.”

Alpharetta Public Safety Director Gary George added he's always believed the hardest job in public safety is that of a 911 operator. Those professionals, he said, are the "critical link between first responders and those in need."
