“February and March are still good months to plant trees in Georgia because the new trees are still fairly dormant, and will have a chance to begin establishing a root system before the summer heat,” said Alpharetta Arborist David Shostak. “Local nurseries can provide suggestions for the best trees to plant in our climate, or go to the Arbor Day Foundation website and enter your zip code in the Tree Wizard to search for recommended varieties.”
When you plant your tree take a selfie with the tree and post it on the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission Facebook page, along with a description of your project.
