Alpharetta Graduate To Star in MTV's 'Real World'
Tyara Hooks graduated from Alpharetta High School in 2013.
ALPHARETTA, GA -- Born into a family of singers, actors and musicians, Tyara “Tya” Hooks debuted her musical skills at the tender age of three when she began harmonizing with the family’s singing group.
Now more than 20 years later, the 2013 Alpharetta High School graduate will continue her career in the entertainment industry by appearing on the 32nd season of MTV's "The Real World."
Hooks will host a pre-screening of the show on Oct. 5 and travel back to Atlanta Oct. 6-8. While in the area, she plans to visit her alma mater "where she fell in love with the art of acting," her manager said.

While in high school, Hooks began honing her skills as an actress and speaker and studied under the leadership of her drama/speech coach David Gay. There, the student became known for her versatility and ability to speak several dialects.
Hooks was later featured as a lead actress in the Indie Film, "Zombie Crush," alongside Tendall Mann.

She is also known for her work in other films such as "Hidden Agenda" and "Wheels Go Round."
Along with her work as a budding actress, Hooks has also made waves during National Forensics League (NFL) Speech and Debate tournaments. As a four-time Georgia state forensics champion, Hooks earned a spot in two National Forensics League (NFL) tournaments, which were shown on ESPN.
Hooks, 21, currently studies marketing at Western Kentucky University where she is a member of the school's forensics team.
