Alpharetta To Host Free Fall Planting Class

Residents who are interested in adding trees and shrubs to their landscapes will soon be able to take a class on how to take advantage of the fall climate to get healthier yards and plantings.

This free course will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Alpharetta Department of Public Works, which is located at 1790 Hembree Road.
The free class, presented by the city of Alpharetta, Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension North Fulton Master Gardeners, will cover:

- Planting trees
- Preparing soil for ornamentals
- Selecting shrubs for desired location
- Planting (and moving) shrubs
- Mulching
- Watering
- Fertilizing
