Throughout the year, with every jewelry item sold, the store donates a percentage of its sales to the Northside Hospital Foundation’s Breast Care Fund, which provides education/support services for breast cancer patients and their families, as well as life-saving digital screening mammograms for underinsured women in the community.

Since 2010, the store has given more than $11,000 to the Breast Care Fund.

More cases of breast cancer are diagnosed and treated at Northside Hospital than at any other community hospital in the Southeast, the hospital said.

Northside offers a complete range of services for patients including education, genetic counseling, imaging, surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, support and rehabilitation and more – covering every aspect of breast care.

“My family was directly impacted by this horrible disease when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002,” said Reza Khalaj, owner of RK & Co. Jewelers. “She ultimately lost her courageous battle. As a tribute to her memory, I wanted to give my store a greater purpose and give back to some of the programs that already do so much in the fight against breast cancer, like Northside Hospital.”

Freda Hardage, director of the Northside Hospital Foundation, said the hospital remains “committed to increasing access to breast care in the community, and support from our community partners enables us to provide services to more patients.”

“We are so pleased that Reza and RK & Co. Jewelers have continued to put their faith in Northside and we are grateful for their support,” Hardage added.
