Here are the top five stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:
- Judge Barry Zimmerman, chief judge of Alpharetta's Municipal Court, has agreed to retire to resolve an ethics investigation against him. According to a probe by the Judicial Qualifications Commission (JCQ), Zimmerman may have been "improperly involved in several cases in his court ... in his capacity as an attorney." On Thursday, Jun. 9, Zimmerman stated he decided to retire "for personal reasons" as of Jul. 1. In light of the judge's retirement and agreement to not seek office again, the JQC's investigative panel will not file formal ethics charges against him.
