Alpharetta Lacrosse Team Wins Opening Game

ALPHARETTA, GA -- With only three games into the season, Alpharetta High School's men's lacrosse team has delivered impressive performances thanks to the help of two of its players.

Jake Medina, a senior midfielder, did not disappoint teammates, coaches and the crowd during opening week of play for the school's squad.

In Alpharetta's opening Area 5 contest against North Forsyth, which was held Feb. 14, Medina scored 7 goals and added an assist to help the school post a 13-9 win. In that same contest, Hyatt Duncan, freshman attack, scored four goals as part of the team effort.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, Medina followed up with a 3-goal performance, despite Alpharetta recording a 12-8 loss against non-area opponent Roswell.

The Alpharetta men's lacrosse varsity team is led by head coach John Snow, who is in his second year, and Assistant Coach Ben Natelson.

The team finished the 2016 season with a record of 10 wins and 7 losses and advanced to the Georgia 6A playoffs. During the post-season tournament, they moved into the second round, with a win over North Paulding, before falling to Etowah.

Alpharetta's next game is scheduled for Feb. 21 against Allatoona.
