Alpharetta Man Charged with Forging Prescription

The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 57-year-old Alpharetta man was accused of trying to pass a forged prescription for Percocet at Walmart on Windward Parkway on Feb. 17.

The pharmacist noticed the prescription did not have the seal from the doctor now required on all prescriptions. She called the doctor's office, who confirmed no prescription was made for the woman named on what the man presented, and the person listed as preparing the prescription hadn't worked at the office for more than a year.

The suspect, who was still at the store, was arrested by Milton police and cited for forgery and attempting to obtain dangerous drugs by fraud.

Safe Cut Open to Steal Cash from Milton Store

More than $2,800 was missing from a safe at the Dollar Tree store on GA 9 in Milton.

The employee who opened the store on Feb. 12 reported to Milton police that when she arrived that morning, she discovered the safe had been cut open.

The alarm battery at the store had died, but could only be replaced by a district manager, so it had not sounded.

Milton Woman Loses Thousands in Cash to Burglar

A Cheltenham Walk resident left her house at 10 a.m. on Feb. 15 only to find it had been burglarized when she returned five hours later.

She reported $2,400 in cash was taken, along with $500 worth of liquor and a computer.

A neighbor reported seeing a white Cadillac in the driveway of the home at 11:15 a.m. that day, while the homeowner was gone.

Milton police report entry was gained by prying open a breakfast room window.
