The Fulton County Medical Examiner has released the cause of death for the Alpharetta man who died Saturday evening after he fell from the upper deck at Turner Field.

An autopsy performed on Monday by Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Karen Sullivan ruled the cause of death for Gregory Kent Murrey, 60, was attributed to ”blunt force injuries to the head and torso,” the office said in a press release.

The manner of death, Dr. Sullivan stated, is accidental. Additionally, toxicology results are pending and won’t be available for several weeks.

“There was no underlying medical condition found that contributed to death,” the office added said.

The incident occurred during the seventh inning while the Atlanta Braves were playing the New York Yankees, the home team announced Saturday. Murrey reportedly lost his balance and plunged 50 feet to the lower bowl section behind home plate, according to MLB.com.

Atlanta police Lieutenant Charles Hampton said the man died after he was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

“The Atlanta Braves offer their deepest condolences to the family,” the team said in a statement.

According to ESPN, the man was a Braves season-ticket holder. Atlanta police are investigating the cause of the fall, but previously told WSB-TV they do not think foul play contributed to the accident.
