Alpharetta Opens Registration For Spring Sports

ALPHARETTA, GA -- The city of Alpharetta has opened registration for spring sports for teens and adults.

Registration opened Jan. 17 for teen basketball, men's basketball and adult softball. Registration for a new program, 6-on-6 co-ed adult volleyball, will start Jan. 30.

Details about each sport is as follows:

Teen Spring Basketball – Season begins Feb. 20. Games held on Mondays/Wednesdays at Wills Park Recreation Center or Alpharetta Community Center. Cost: $400/team (plus non-resident fees). Players must be 15-19 years old by first game of season.

Men’s Spring Basketball – Season begins Feb. 20. Games held on Tuesdays (A-League) or Thursdays (B-League) at Alpharetta Community Center or Wills Park Recreation Center. Cost: $400/team (plus non-resident fees). Players must be 18 or older by first game of season.

Adult Spring Softball – returning team (played spring 2016) registration starts Jan. 17 and open team registration starts Jan. 23. Season begins Feb. 20 at North Park. Games played on Mondays (Men’s C and D, Co-ed D) and Wednesdays (Men’s D and E, Co-ed C). Cost: $450/team (plus non-resident fees). Players must be 18 or older by first game of season.

NEW! 6-on-6 Co-ed Adult Spring Volleyball – Season begins March 6. Games played on Mondays/Wednesdays at Alpharetta Community Center. Cost: $400/team (plus non-resident fees). Players must be 18 or older by first game of season.

Leagues are popular and may fill quickly, so don’t delay once registration begins. Citizens can register online or on-site at the Crabapple Government Center at 12624 Broadwell Road.
