“This is the perfect program to keep the boys and girls in your family active during colder winter months,” the city of Alpharetta said in a press release. “ As with many sports, basketball helps children gain confidence as they learn and master new skills. With each dribble, block, and basket, players increase self-esteem and improve their abilities. Basketball helps children learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship, plus they improve their fitness while having fun.”
Registration is available online at the city’s website or by visiting an Alpharetta recreation facility. You must have an online customer account with the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department to register online. Residents should note that during priority registration online registration is not available for returning Milton residents.
Volunteer coaching opportunities may be available to qualified adults. All potential coaching candidates must successfully complete the city’s criminal background check. Candidates are screened to ensure adequate knowledge of the fundamentals of the game. Training opportunities may also be available.
