National statistics indicate that four out of five child safety seats are misused every day in the United States, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said in its press release. Alpharetta police officers and firefighters who are state certified child safety technicians will be on hand to install, evaluate, adjust and demonstrate the proper methods of using a child restraint seat.

Additional safety information will be made available at the event.

“Parents are encouraged to bring their infants or children and the car seat intended to be used to the event,” the agency said. “It just might save a child’s life.”
