National Night Out is a national program created in 1984 in an effort to spread the word about crime prevention programs, to facilitate neighborhood watch groups and to bring partnerships between citizens, business communities and public safety organizations together in an effort to create and sustain safer communities.

Today, National Night Out is celebrated by thousands of participating law enforcement organizations in the United States annually as well as hundreds of countries around the world.

This year’s festivities will involve many static displays of Alpharetta’s police and fire vehicles, police and firefighter skills demonstrations, a SWAT scenario involving simulated gunfire, a K-9 police dog demonstration, an interactive fire safety house and the presentation of specialty vehicles such as Alpharetta’s newest firefighting vehicle: the Air and Light Rehab Truck.

Your police officers and firefighters will be cooking up their world famous free hot dogs and hamburgers for the attendees! This year we will also be serving ice cream and have a tattoo booth for the kids.
