The event will start with a performance by Alpharetta City Band, followed by the program featuring keynote speaker, Captain Alec Fraser, a veteran, Rotarian and past-president of the Rotary Club of Atlanta.

Fraser has had two very unique careers: he's served as commanding officer of two United States Navy ships and president of Turner Global Properties, a division of Turner Broadcasting.

Frasier completed 24 years in the U.S. Navy, serving the captain of a destroyer and cruiser. His last command, the cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71), earned the Arizona Memorial Trophy for being the most combat-ready ship in both the Atlantic and Pacific fleets.

USS Cape St. George is a guided missile cruiser that has the latest AEGIS radar, can guide 24 missiles simultaneously, carries two helicopters and has a crew of 500. More information on the keynote speaker can be found at www.captainfraser.com.

“Memorial Day is a time to pay tribute to the brave men and women of our military who gave their lives for our freedom and this great country we love," said John Hipes, chairman of the Memorial Day Tribute said. "The Rotary Club of Alpharetta is pleased to partner with the City of Alpharetta to bring our community together to hear inspiring words and music, to celebrate our country, and to reflect upon the sacrifices made for our freedom.”
