Alpharetta Resident Takes Role in Showtime's 'Homeland'

Spending way too much time in does let me meet some interesting people, such as Dan Mengini, whom you can watch on Showtime Sunday night.

Are you a fan of "Homeland," the new show from Showtime? Then set your DVR for Sunday's episode and get the added bonus of seeing an Alpharetta actor take on a notable supporting role.

Dan Mengini plays field reporter Alan Quick in episode 2 of "Homeland". on the episode first airing on Sunday, Oct. 9.

The local actor/comic said the show was being shot in Charlotte, N.C. While he was there for episode 2 shooting, he shared a makeup trailer for a few days with Morena Baccarin, who recently starred in the "V" remake on TV. Her role had been recast, so she was reshooting scenes for episode 1.

The synopsis on Showtime says, "When MIA Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody returns home to a hero's welcome after eight years in enemy confinement, brilliant but volatile CIA agent Carrie Mathison isn't buying his story. She believes that Brody has been turned and is now working for Al Qaeda."
