The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety developed information that indicated Woods may attempt to leave the state. The department asked for help from the U.S.  Marshal’s Service.  Federal agents began to track Woods in another state, Gordon said. However, for unknown reasons Woods returned to Georgia as agents were closing in on him.

After the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Squad located Woods, Alpharetta police detectives responded to the scene and took custody of him. He was transported to the Alpharetta North Fulton jail annex and processed.

Gary George, director of Alpharetta Public Safety, states “The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety and I personally are grateful for the invaluable assistance given to us in this case. I commend the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Squad for their work in bringing a dangerous suspect into custody.”
